I think it is a little absurd to be award a man who has been President a matter of months the Nobel Peace Prize. Apparently I am not the only one who thinks this.

Praise and skepticism greet Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize

In that piece it seems a Democrat agrees with me.

Gideon Rachman, a foreign affairs columnist for The Financial Times, wrote an online blog under the headline “What did Obama do to win the Nobel Peace Prize?”

“I am a genuine admirer of Obama. And I am very pleased that George W. Bush is no longer president. But I doubt that I am alone in wondering whether this award is slightly premature. It is hard to point to a single place where Obama’s efforts have actually brought about peace - Gaza, Iran, Sri Lanka?

“While it is OK to give school children prizes for ‘effort’ — my kids get them all the time — I think international statesmen should probably be held to a higher standard,” he wrote.

I think our society has built up this type of mentality though. Like Gideon said, we do this for kids in school so why shouldn’t someone like Obama expect he “A” for effort. So we’ll throw him a Nobel Peace Prize for thinking about maybe doing something in regards to peace. I guess it could also be the consolation prize for not bringing the Olympics to Chicago.

It amazes me that in an era where it is completely wrong and almost criminal to mention God in a public school system that worshiping a man is of no concern.

The new NJ School Kids Video is quite disturbing and I can’t believe we’re just now hearing about it.  I’m all for a lot of the positive quotes that the kids make. I really do think that we all should some something for the betterment of this country, but then the song takes it that creepy step farther.

It become all most a praise song of Barack Obama. He is our President and he deserves respect but what those kids were doing was adorning him and his message. That kind of indoctrination does not belong in the classroom.

I keep thinking to myself that this CARS Program as it is called now (really known as Cash for Clunkers) is just another absurd welfare program. I find myself thinking that because I know that’s exactly what it is.

Then I tell myself that I might as well get a piece of this pie. I mean someone is going to get it anyway. This is my chance to finally cash in on the system!

I drive a 2002 Ford Windstar and my second vehicle is a 1995 Ford Bronco. It leaves quite the carbon footprint. However that is not the “clunker” that I would like to have demolished (I love it too much for that).

My wife drives a 1995 Ford Thunderbird with over 200,000 miles on it. It still runs just fine but is a little rough around the edges any more with rust and fading paint taking over the car. We haven’t gotten our use out of time and time again. I told her that we are getting her a newer car next spring. Then this CforC deal comes around and I find myself thinking that I might as well take advantage of it. I just can’t see demolishing this useful vehicle though when it could be a good vehicle for someone who needs a cheap car. Because that’s what happens to these “clunkers” they get scrapped.

So as Stimulus goes this really doesn’t do much but move the date up in which we were going to buy a car. It seems like someone else on the Wall Street Journal website agrees with me: Cash From Clunkers Let’s have a $4,500 subsidy for everything.

So as it stands we have a personal stimulus on homes and vehicles so I I wonder what the next “logical” progression would be for this thought process? Maybe we should give a subsidy for everything. With this current thinking process that would just be Common Sense! That’s not the kind of Common Sense I want though, how about you?

I heard this woman’s concerns on the news this morning and had to shout AMEN! at the television. She says exactly what I’ve been thinking and I hope that others will take notice and voice their concerns as well.

Because this woman had great Common Sense she will be awarded the Coherent Thinker Award.
