Obama October Surprise?

I received an email today and to be honest have wondered about the same bait-&-switch type maneuver myself.  Lets face it Obama’s choice in Biden was politically stupid if his true intention was to reach out to the middle grounders because Biden is very polarizing and extremely ‘old’ Washington.  Biden stated recently “Hillary would make a better Vice President than me”.  See what is happening.  Anyway onto the email….

On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary.  This is timed to occur after the VP debate on 10/2.

There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this info.  generally, the feeling is that we should all go ahead and get it out there to as many blog sites and personal email lists as is possible.  I have already seen a few short blurbs about this - the “health problem” cited in those articles was aneurysm.  probably many of you have heard the same rumblings. However, at this point, with this inside info from the DNC, it looks like this Obama strategy will be a go.

Therefore, it seems that the best strategy is to get out in front of this obama maneuver,  spell it out in detail, and thereby expose it for the grand manipulation that it is.

Well?  Any thoughts or projections?

Stupid Statement of the week goes to….

“Barack Obama was a community organizer like Jesus, Pontius Pilate was a governor.”

And who can we credit with this absolutely insane example of stupid people being able to speak?  None other than an elected official, yeah, I know…surprised right?

Typical of loony leftists defending Obama was Democratic Congressman Steve Cohen, who as a white Jewish candidate in a majority African-American Memphis district, fought an ugly campaign to eke out re-nomination.

Lets all stand and applaud Mr. Idiot.  Yes you Congressman Steve Cohen are an idiot and personally insulting to Jesus and those who actually try to live by what He taught.

Prices at the pump got you mad?

*Hold on to your hats for a sec*

All we are hearing from Washington, and I mean all of them from both parties, is “we are looking for a way to help the American people now”. They want to save you money at the gas pumps, they want to ease your burden and make sure you have what you need when you need it. Um, yeah. Anyone falling for this?

The government asked us to cut back out use of oil, which most people have done in one way or another because it is so expensive right now, but the point is WE DID. Most responsible people don’t leave extra lights on in rooms your not using, we don’t leave cars idiling just for the heck of it and many of us are cutting costs wherever possible to save our wallets. Good, all of that is good.

But wait…..

Now the congress is trying to slip a quiet $0.10 extra Federal tax onto every single gallon of gas you buy. What? Yes, it is that simple. Their reason? The American people are not buying enough fuel to keep the tax revenue coming in so they have to increase the cost to up the intake of the Federal government. Bufford! You can’t be serious! Yes, yes in fact I am.

But I thought it was the evil oil industry that was the enemy. Well, are they? Look at the numbers. First, in Florida the state makes $0.08 on every gallon sold. The Feds make $0.30 on every gallon sold in our country (and that will be $0.40 soon with the new tax). So the total they make off of us every time we pump is $0.38 (don’t forget the stupid .9 at the end) and that is without the upcoming tax.

Exxon, who posted profits that pissed off (what seemed like) every working person alive makes how much profit off of each gallon they drill, pump, refine and sell? Ready for the gross, horrific, inhumane number? Hold on…here it comes…. $0.08 cents for every gallon. What? No, wait, that can’t be right. Yes, yes it is. Add to that, if your a working American who has a retirement plan of any kind, your money is invested heavily with this and every other oil company out there. So what happens if the government does as one candidate is suggesting and takes control of that money and forces them to do with it as he wishes, or worse penalizes them with a huge tax for daring to make a profit that big? Your retirement is going down the crapper is what! You will suffer at the pump and in your retirement years too.

Still want to hang Exxon? Well you better hurry, that company is a whole 3% of the world’s oil market. Yes, a whopping 3%.

Why are we mad at the company? Why are we not screaming for the heads of our elected ‘representatives’ in Washington? They get more of your money with every gallon pumped!

This is fact, not opinion, so if your upset about me saying it I guess you need to find a wall to beat your head on, because these are facts that won’t change by screaming about little bitty Exxon and its 3% of the world’s oil market and $0.08 cents per gallon profit. I hope they keep my retirement fund strong because I look forward to it one day.

The facts your liberal friends need to hear
By Jonah Goldberg

Liberals, perhaps more than anyone, believe that we should be vigilant against the threat of fascism. Now, they also believe that fascism can only come from the Right–I think they’re wrong. But, what liberals - and everyone else - very much need to understand is that whatever direction fascism comes from, it’s popular. Fascism succeeds in democratic countries because it convinces people that it’s the wave of the future, it’s progressive, it’s young, it’s vital, it’s exciting. Fascist promise to fix what’s broken in our democracy, to heal our wounds, to deliver us to promised lands. So if you think fascism comes from the Right, fine. But at least keep in mind that it won’t sell itself as dull, or uptight, or old-fashioned.

Let me take a moment to give you a concrete sense of what I mean.

Fascism appealed to youth activists. Indeed, the Nazis and Fascists were in major respects youth movements. In 1931, 60 percent of all German undergraduates supported the Nazi Student Organization. “Their goal,” the historian John Toland wrote of the young idealists who fed the Nazi rise to power, “was to establish a youth culture for fighting the bourgeois trinity of school, home and church.”

Meanwhile, middle and lower class Germans were attracted to the economic and cultural populism of Nazism. The Nazi party began as the German Worker’s Party. The Nazis economic rhetoric was eerily similar to John Edwards “Two Americas” talk. The Nazis promised to clamp down on Big Business - particularly department stores, the Wal-Marts of their day - and end the class struggle. Theodore Abel, an impressively clever American sociologist, gives us insight into why working class Germans were attracted to Nazism. In 1934 Abel took out an ad in the Nazi Party journal asking “old fighters” to submit essays explaining why they had joined. He restricted his request to “old fighters” because so many opportunists had joined the party after Hitler’s rise. The essays were combined in the fascinating book Why Hitler Came Into Power. One essayist, a coal miner, explained “Though I was interested in the betterment of the workingman’s plight, I rejected [Marxism] unconditionally. I often asked myself why socialism had to be tied up with internationalism-why it could not work as well or better in conjunction with nationalism.” A railroad worker concurred, “I shuddered at the thought of Germany in the grip of Bolshevism. The slogan ‘Workers of the World Unite!’ made no sense to me. At the same time, however, National Socialism, with its promise of a community . . . barring all class struggle, attracted me profoundly.” A third worker wrote that he embraced the Nazis because of their “uncompromising will to stamp out the class struggle, snobberies of caste and party hatreds. The movement bore the true message of socialism to the German workingman.”

Nazism’s appeal to the professional classes was just as strong. Raymond Dominick, a historian specializing in the history of German environmentalism, found that by 1939, 59 percent of conservationist leaders had joined the Nazi party, while only 10 percent of adult males had. Forty five percent of medical doctors had joined and roughly one quarter of teachers and lawyers had. The two groups of professionals with the highest rates of participation in the Nazi Party? Veterinarians were first and foresters were a close second. Dominick found a “unique nexus between National Socialism and nature conservation.”

The Nazis and Italian Fascists won-over big business, cultural elites, the youth and the lower-classes because they portrayed themselves as heroically on the side of progress, protecting the environment and the poor. Fascists preached unity, togetherness and an end to division.

Liberals need to ask themselves where do they hear this rhetoric the most?

I’m not saying that merely being for the environment, the poor or national unity makes you a fascist. But what I am saying is that if you’re concerned about spotting fascism on the horizon you can’t just look at people you don’t like. That’s like only looking for your lost car keys where the light is good. Huey Long reportedly said that if Fascism comes to America it will be called “anti-Fascism.” Liberals can still make their arguments that fascism comes from the right. But until they understand that wherever fascism may come from, it never arrives save in a form that the best and the brightest are willing to accept with open arms.

And if liberals don’t know their history, they won’t be equipped to spot it when it comes knocking.

Jonah Goldberg is the author of the New York Times bestseller Liberal Fascism.

What will it take before the liberals realize they are doing the very thing they accuse the conservatives of?  Will we have to become a fully Socialized state?  Will they be allowed to create a Facist state here?  We must stop them now…for their own good.  We must revive Common Sense!

Honest Democrats - Wisconsin Beware!

This was an editorial in today’s edition of the Wall Street Journal which actually details out the costs involved with “Free Socialized Health Care” on just a single state level. Take a minute and read the facts so you know what your asking for when you request your government to pay for your health care costs.

Review & Outlook
“Cheese Headcases”

When Louis Brandeis praised the 50 states as “laboratories of democracy,: he didn’t claim that every policy experiment would work. So we hope the eyes of America will turn to Wisconsin, and the effort by Madison Democrats to make that “progressive” state a petri dish for government-run health care.

This exercise is especially instructive, because it reveals where the “single-payer,” universal coverage folks end up. Democrats who run the Wisconsin Senate have dropped the Washington pretense of incremental health-care reform and moved directly to passing a plan to insure every resident under the age of 65 in the state. And, wow, is “free” health care expensive. The plan would cost an estimated $15.2 billion, or $3 billion more than the state currently collects in all income, sales and corporate income taxes. It represents an average of $510 a month in higher taxes for every Wisconsin worker.

Employees and businesses would pay for the plan by sharing the cost of a new 14.5% employment tax on wages. Wisconsin businesses would have to compete with out-of-state businesses and foreign rivals while shouldering a 29.8% combined federal-state payroll tax, nearly double the 15.3% payroll tax paid by non-Wisconsin firms for Social Security and Medicare combined.

This employment tax is on top of the $1 billion grab bag of other levies that Democratic Governor Jim Doyle proposed and the tax-happy Senate has also approved, including a $1.25 a pack increase on the cigarette tax, a 10% hike in the corporate tax, and new fees on cars, trucks, hospitals, real estate transactions, oil companies and dry cleaners. In all, the tax burden in the Badger state could rise to 20% of family income, which is slightly more than the average federal tax burden. “At least federal taxes pay for Army and Navy,” quips R.J. Parlot of the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce business lobby.

As if that’s not enough, the health plan includes tax escalator clause allowing an additional 1.5 percentage point payroll tax to finance higher outlays in the future. This could bring the payroll tax to 16%. One reason to expect costs to soar is that the state may become a mecca for the unemployed, uninsured and sick from all over North America. The legislation doesn’t require that you have a job in Wisconsin to qualify, merely that you live in the state for at least 12 months. Cheesehead nation could expect to attract health-care free-riders while losing productive workers who leave for less-taxing climes.

Proponents use the familiar argument for national health care that this wills ave money (about $1.8 billion a year) through efficiency gains by eliminating the administrative costs of private insurance. And unions and some big business with rich union health plans are only too happy to dump these liabilities onto the government.

But those costs won’t vanish; they’ll merely shift to all taxpayers and businesses. Small employers that can’t afford to provide insurance would see their employment costs rise by thousands of dollars per worker, while those that now provide a basic health insurance plan would have to pay $400 to $500 a year more per employee.

The plan is an openly hostile to marked incentives that contain costs. Private companies are making modest progress in sweating out health-care inflation by making patients more cost-conscious through increased copayments, health savings accounts, and incentives for wellness. The Wisconsin program moves in the opposite direction: It reduces out-of-pocket copayments, bars money-savings HSA plans, and increases the number of mandated medical services covered under the plan.

So where will savings com from? Where they always do in any government plan: Rationing via price controls and, as costs rise, waiting periods and coverage restrictions. This is Michael Moore’s medical dream state.

The last line of defense against this plan are the Republicans who run the Wisconsin House. So far they’ve been unified and they recently voted the Senate plan down. Democrats are now planning to take their ideas to the voters in legislative races next year, and that’s a debate Wisconsinites should look forward to. At least Wisconsin Democrats are admitting how much it will cost Americans to pay for government-run health care. Would that Washington Democrats were as forthright.

Suddenly the “free” health care doesn’t look so free, or enticing, now does it. Wake up America! Your being asked to kill your own economy.

How would you fix it?

I was recently asked how I would fix the problems in our great country. What about you? I keep hearing people demand this or that, say how stupid things are and go on and on about how we need change. What I have yet to hear is a Common Sense approach to everything.

Let’s start with the War in Iraq.
I say bring the troops home now, begin a staged pullout of several thousand troops per month and tell Iraq, “you will need to fill the gap as it grows with your own security forces” and once we are gone, we are gone. Civil War will erupt, it’s a given, but it is going to have to happen if they are truly going to form a stable government. We did it, most civilized nations have gone through them, it’s part of a government being forced to listen to the people.

Illegal immigration
Bring our troops home and put them to work sealing our southern boarder, I don’t mean guarding it, I mean SEALING IT OFF! Designate a one mile area between our boarder and Mexico that is a no man’s land of dangerous thing, terminal things. Anyone venturing into our sovereign nation without proper authorization will be dealt with as an invading force. I think we could seriously slow down illegal immigration and put our forces to work and live action training all at the same time.

Gas Prices will drop.
That is a slower fix but there is one. We will begin immediate drilling in Alaska, Florida and anywhere else we find oil deposits in this country. Zero tolerance will be shown to anyone attempting to form a human shield to ‘protect the environment’. Harsh? Then shut up and pay the price for gas as it is now. Either quit whining and belly up to the pumps or get out of the way for progress. If it kills some wildlife then you Darwin fans of nature should sleep well seeing his “Survival of the Fittest” theology in action.

Government must shrink.
Every elected official will get one secretary and one aid assigned to them. Both positions will have a pay range of $35,000.00 to $45,000.00 per year and any other positions of service to these officials will be paid out of their own pockets. Elected Officials will get an annual starting salary of $60,000.00 and can increase no more than $2,000.00 yearly and they will not get yearly pay raises unless their yearly evaluation (conducted by their constituency) meets a level of 90% or above. What are they being evlauated on? Their campaign promises, we are going to hold them to the fire. No longer will they vote their own pay raises into effect like it is now.

No new furniture every year, their office will be filled with items built at the local prisons, we have ALOT of free labor there. No drivers, if they want to go somewhere they can take the car they will be provided, probably the ones taken in by the lowest AMERICAN bidder. No more turning on my TV to find a senator from California in a hostile foreign country spouting her mouth off about something she has NO right to address. They were elected to represent their area, NOT ME OR MINE! One American from another district tried to contact her office to say he was displeased with her doing that, they told him, “Your not a registered voter in her district, she does not have to listen to you”. Stay in your district.

None will serve more than 4 consecutive terms, a term being now 2 years. If we want to see people go there to fix things we need to make sure they know it is temporary then they are back into the work force.

No more importing food.
We grow what we need, if we can’t grow it in this wonderful country then we will consider importing it but only with the understanding that the country that exports their goods to us MUST import a minimum level of our products to equal the cost of what we purchase from them. If you have never had your own backyard garden, your missing out!

Alternative Energy.
Nuclear. It is clean and safe! If your going to piss and moan about coal, shut up when we give you an alternative. Windmills are stupid, they don’t produce enough electricity to power the machines that make them. Want another option, SOLAR! It is the truly clean, natural, renewable fuel for mankind.

All of this was just a start, it can be shocking to people who are spoon fed by the leftist media, but when you come out of your Common Sense induced seizure…consider the true options to make this country great again. We need to stop listening to a bunch of communist money hording liberals who want 100x the control that the government has now! Wake up America!

Common Sense wins again!

Political Agenda vs Common Sense

Let me start by saying my political views are more towards the conservative side of the realm, however, that does not mean I only vote Republican nor do I subscribe to everything this party does or plans to do. I do not believe it is the responsibility of the government to moderate morality and many things we see going to the Supreme Court have no right to be there in the first place, such as homosexual marriage, abortion and other social topics that can and should be governed on a state by state basis.

On April 19, 2007 we observed the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing where an American citizen took it upon himself to destroy hundreds of lives with a home made bomb. He was a murderer and a national terrorist, I doubt few would argue with that. He was not affiliated directly with any group, not sanctioned by any group to carry this out and did so only because of his personal beliefs that the government needed to be punished. He was wrong, there is no simpler way to put it.

On that date an online acquaintance of mine posted a so called ‘memorial’ to the victims, mentioning we should remember the fallen then stated this:

” Let’s take back this date from the right wing who hate our nation and murder our citizens. Let’s remember that the greatest threat isn’t from foreigners in mosques, but from paranoid conservative idealogues who wave bibles.”

Some memorial huh? All about the victims huh? I must call Bull Crap on this one, and I have studied his post for days, turning it over in my head and trying to consider it from his point of view only to come to the Common Sense realization that it’s purely his way to spew political vomit against those he hates and not at all a focus on the victims. You should be careful getting into the mindset that the government needs to be punished for what YOU see as criminal, that was the very mindset of the murderer who carried out the attack in Oklahoma City.

We must remove all Common Sense if we are to take his view, to say that our greatest threat was one lunatic in a rented truck with a bomb acting alone and of his own twisted accord. To ignore a untied front of terrorists based in the middle east who’s only desire is to destroy us, our country and us as human beings, would be a fatal mistake. While our remembrance of the Oklahoma City bombing should be for the victims of a twisted mad man who was executed for his crimes, our remembrance of September 11, 2001 should be a constant reminder of an ONGOING threat to our lives.

We are not handling the threat at home like we should in that we have open borders and very little tracking of foreign nationals who enter our country. We contract out our port security to middle eastern countries, the same ones that act like our friends but are not. We play Politically Correct word games so we don’t offend people and heaven forbid we profile the people who carry out these type of attacks. You see, what my aquaintance seems to not understand is that the terrorist from Oklahoma acted alone but our current threat is acting in unison around the world to attack not only us but our allies such as the United Kingdom and Spain, both of whom were attacked by the same group.

Wake up America, its time to take a good hard look at our real threat and stop wasting time bashing Christianity and people who believe its wrong to murder children in the womb when we have an entire culture bent on wiping us off the planet. It’s time to stop using the victims of crime to attack our own government who is just as much a victim as the people who bled and died, remember…”Government of the People, by the People, for the People”! Attacking Christianity, who is doing nothing to harm this country, while ignoring our true enemy who is actively trying to drive us in to extinction is like worrying about a mosquito on your arm when there is a rattle snake pumping venom in your leg!

Common Sense wins again!
