Why are people so hopeful with this man? Do they really think his “Change” mantra is enough to go one and follow him blindly?
Why Are You So Hopeful?

*Hold on to your hats for a sec*
All we are hearing from Washington, and I mean all of them from both parties, is “we are looking for a way to help the American people now”. They want to save you money at the gas pumps, they want to ease your burden and make sure you have what you need when you need it. Um, yeah. Anyone falling for this?
The government asked us to cut back out use of oil, which most people have done in one way or another because it is so expensive right now, but the point is WE DID. Most responsible people don’t leave extra lights on in rooms your not using, we don’t leave cars idiling just for the heck of it and many of us are cutting costs wherever possible to save our wallets. Good, all of that is good.
But wait…..
Now the congress is trying to slip a quiet $0.10 extra Federal tax onto every single gallon of gas you buy. What? Yes, it is that simple. Their reason? The American people are not buying enough fuel to keep the tax revenue coming in so they have to increase the cost to up the intake of the Federal government. Bufford! You can’t be serious! Yes, yes in fact I am.
But I thought it was the evil oil industry that was the enemy. Well, are they? Look at the numbers. First, in Florida the state makes $0.08 on every gallon sold. The Feds make $0.30 on every gallon sold in our country (and that will be $0.40 soon with the new tax). So the total they make off of us every time we pump is $0.38 (don’t forget the stupid .9 at the end) and that is without the upcoming tax.
Exxon, who posted profits that pissed off (what seemed like) every working person alive makes how much profit off of each gallon they drill, pump, refine and sell? Ready for the gross, horrific, inhumane number? Hold on…here it comes…. $0.08 cents for every gallon. What? No, wait, that can’t be right. Yes, yes it is. Add to that, if your a working American who has a retirement plan of any kind, your money is invested heavily with this and every other oil company out there. So what happens if the government does as one candidate is suggesting and takes control of that money and forces them to do with it as he wishes, or worse penalizes them with a huge tax for daring to make a profit that big? Your retirement is going down the crapper is what! You will suffer at the pump and in your retirement years too.
Still want to hang Exxon? Well you better hurry, that company is a whole 3% of the world’s oil market. Yes, a whopping 3%.
Why are we mad at the company? Why are we not screaming for the heads of our elected ‘representatives’ in Washington? They get more of your money with every gallon pumped!
This is fact, not opinion, so if your upset about me saying it I guess you need to find a wall to beat your head on, because these are facts that won’t change by screaming about little bitty Exxon and its 3% of the world’s oil market and $0.08 cents per gallon profit. I hope they keep my retirement fund strong because I look forward to it one day.

I am a gunowner and I am all for the Second Amendment but some people should just not be allowed to have guns, automobiles, kids, chewing gum, etc.
I applaud her ambition for wanting to rid herself of the mice but maybe something a little smaller would have been a good idea. Also I would like to see that gun for myself because that sounds like a “magic bullet” incident if I ever heard one. There has to be a grassy knoll in this story somewhere…
Final Score:
Mice - 1
Woman - .44
Common Sense - 0

I tried to fit one more “p” in there but I didn’t like the word usage so you only get three.
Now onto what we’re here to discuss today: Massachusetts Parade Pokes Fun at Pregnancy Pact; Offends Working-Class Area
It seems to me that if the mayor is so upset over the parade making fun of this issue that maybe they should deal with it instead of ignoring the problem. I’m not saying that teen pregnancy is a laughing matter because it is a serious issue. I just get tired of hearing people whine when they should be taking care of the situations that arise.
Maybe if the government didn’t bail out all of the pregnant teens across the country they would think twice about it or at the very least take responsibility for their actions and take care of that kid. I’m not saying that this is the case for all pregnant teens but it does seem to be the norm.
This Parade has given me an idea. I’m going to do something new here at Coherent Thought. I’m going to hold a contest!
The Prize: Your choice of shirt from our shop!
The Contest: Your Horrible Float Design
Rules: Well I’ll leave it open as to how you want to give me your design. You can just tell me the idea or you can even give me an actual picture or anything in between. You may submit up to two different designs. There must be at least ten unique entries (10 different people). Be creative but please keep it family friendly. The topic should be supporting some Common Sense idea or something in the Conservative spectrum. The contest will run for one month.
Send all entries to jeremy@coherentthought.com with the Subject Line Float Contest.

At least that’s what someone should have told a 17-year-old Georgia teen when he visited Six flags. I was watching the news this morning and more information came out. Apparently the boy and his friend jumped the fences to cut into line and save some time.
The big story now is that the boy’s family is wanting to sue Six Flags! I am so tired of people not taking responsibility for their own actions.
I am truly sorry that this boy is dead but it is because of his own bad decisions that this incident happened. He totally ignored warning signs and had to jump two 6-foot fences to get into this restricted area. I think it was obvious that he wasn’t supposed to be there but he didn’t care.
So who is wrong here? Should the boy have paid attention to the obvious warnings or did Six Flags neglect to safeguard the ride with enough restrictive measures?
