Thousands Demonstrate in Basra Against Governor
Things are obviously not perfect over there and I hate to see anyone in a war, but this protest would not have been possible under previous circumstances. I can attest personally to the fact that their freedoms have grown due to the fact that Saddam was removed from power. I am a Director in the Awana program. The Awana program has been able to grow, expand, and operate freely now that more freedom has been given to the people of Iraq. That was unable to be done while Saddam was in power.
Things may not be perfect in this war and I don’t think we should expect them to be perfect. Persistence will be the key, so we need to continue to look for other signs of freedom!
